Come Aboard...we are expecting you...
Both of my sisters' have a wicked sense of humor. But, they are different, ya know? My oldest sister, who is 10 years older than me, used to let me come visit her on my spring breaks or during summer in my high school years. She would always come up with a "theme" for my visit. The only 2 I can remember are The Love Boat theme (yes,it is recurring) and the Game Show theme. There would be different activities all week, itineraries, funny games, etc. Man, those were good times. I also remember when she got married (I was like 13), I wrote her a song with her new married name in it to the tune of the Brady Bunch theme song. Yeh, good times. Good times.
So, tomorrow is February 29th. Yep, Leap Year. I work at a very fun educational media company and one of our partners decided that since it isn't a "real" day, then we don't have to work! So, it is our 1st Annual Leap Year Holiday. Enjoy it, it only comes every 4 years.
For that reason, today was my Friday. Which is a wonderful feeling! I have officially dubbed my holiday tomorrow as LA DAY. It is MY day. No housework. No errands. Nothing that I "have" to do. I really need to go to the bank, but I am thinking that can wait until Saturday morning. I plan on going to an 11:45am movie all by myself (no arguments on what to go see). Then, maybe have a little lunch at Panera (I love that place). And, here is the most exciting part...I am taking the laptop over to the causeway beach with a beach chair. I am going to dig my toes into the sand and WRITE. No interruptions. I am sooooo excited.
Our (reminder that the book is being written by my eldest daughter, E, and I)book is at about 7200 words right now, so I still have quite a ways to go. I try to squeeze in at least 500 words at a time on a lunch break or in the evenings. So, having a couple hours all to myself with no responsibilities.....ahhhhh! I am hoping to get a lot accomplished!
Just as a side note, if you get a chance, check out my fave blogs listed at the top of my page. I will be adding to it at all times, but these are some of my faves right now.
I need to go plug in the laptop so it will be charged for LA DAY tomorrow!
Love...exciting and new...Come Aboard...we are expecting you!
Later.
Faith Hope Love--
LA :)

Ok, well I'll comment more later!
Your daughter,
♥E~
I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!!
You are way too cool. I wanna be you when I grow up (whenever that is). :)
I'm so excited to hear about your writing. I'm dying to read your work!
You know, I also wanted to be Julie in my imaginary life.... ROFL
HAVE A GREAT LA DAY!
Nice creative work. One of my fondest memories is when we would wear the big headphones and sing "Mandy" in our soothing and harmonious voices. And that beautiful and delicious Love Boat cake that we surprised B with when he came home from work.
This is such a co-ink-e-dink, but last night as I was lying in bed, awaiting the arrival of Mr. Sand Man to take me away to some serious ZZZZZZZZZZZs, I had an epiphany. I am going to write a book! I am not sure what one would call the genre. It will incorporate humor, spirituality, coping with life experiences, and mental illness. It will be put on the back burner for a while though as I accomplish my current goal of finishing my Master's Degree...
As far as your Julie dream goes...
be proud that your 2 nieces, K and B, will be spending the summer working for a major cruise line. Jealous, huh?
I am proud of you and hope you find happiness in your imaginary world.
I have fond memories of these as
well. Although I only took part in
game show world, in snowy Wisconsin
on one wild and crazy spring break.
Question who in their right mind
goes to Wisconsin on their spring
break?
Even better than all the game show
activities throughout the week was
getting to plunge the toilet.
Ahhhhh fond memories.
